An apt political enthusiast and an insightful public relations specialist…That’s Allie Herson, Our Project ManagerAllie brings a broad political and communications background to the Barbary Coast team. A natural public relations buff, Allie advocates intuitively for her clients and employs her no-nonsense approach to every project. Positive and energetic, she enjoys strategizing and analyzing issues from every possible angle, ultimately finding the best solution for every situation. Allie provides support for numerous clients, taking on each project with diligence and tenacity. Most recently, Allie helped organize a community meeting for Urban Realty’s CityPlace project, managed media relations for Captain Sullenberger’s pilot’s hat auction, and coordinated the Court of Master Sommelier’s first national conference. Eager to stay one step ahead of clients’ needs, Allie fits right in with the fast and efficient energy of the Barbary Coast team. Allie holds a Bachelors Degree in Human Development with a minor in English Literature from UC San Diego and studied in Barcelona, Spain. Prior to joining the team at Barbary Coast, Allie worked on multiple initiative and state-wide campaigns, and developed successful communications and campaign strategies for local, state, and federal candidates. She worked with the Commission on the Status of Women to support advocacy efforts for their priority bills and issues, the Office of Planning and Research to help organize land use projects for the State Clearinghouse, and the Governor’s Office to provide support to the legislative team during the Governor’s bill signings. Through kiva.org, all Barbary Coast employees make interest-free microloans to people in need around the world. Allie’s Kiva partners are Leslie Del Carmen Lopez Martinez from Nicaragua and Silveria from Peru. Leslie and Silveria are both strong and independent women who manage their own stores. Both women are bolstering their businesses incrementally while providing goods and services to their communities. |
