An effective political advocate committed to delivering tangible results...That’s Yoyo Chan, Our Project ManagerEquipped with an intense work ethic and undying enthusiasm, Yoyo brings a diverse background in voter and community outreach, political campaigns, grassroots mobilization, and policy research to the Barbary Coast team. A San Francisco native, she is devoted to providing value, efficiency, and creativity to her clients in every situation possible. At Barbary Coast, Yoyo has worked on projects for a variety of clients including public relations efforts for the Court of Master Sommeliers, community outreach for Drew School, and communications strategies for the City Fields Foundation. For a year and a half, Yoyo served as Campaign Liaison on the Hillary Clinton Presidential Campaign in San Francisco and San Diego County. In this role, she spearheaded Students for Hillary Clinton and helped lead the campaign to a crucial win in California. Prior to joining Barbary Coast, she worked with the San Diego County Taxpayers Association, a nonprofit watchdog organization focused on promoting cost-effective and efficient government, where she conducted policy research and assisted with its marketing efforts. Yoyo has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and minor in Communication from the University of California, San Diego. During her collegiate career, she studied U.S.-Sino Relations in Shanghai, China where she taught English to children of migrant workers. Through kiva.org, all Barbary Coast employees make interest-free microloans to people in need around the world. Yoyo’s Kiva partner is Rosalia from Peru. At 62 years old, Rosalia lives with her husband and granddaughter in South Lima, Peru. For the last 15 years, Rosalia has been selling Peruvian beef skewers in front of her home in order to support her household along with her husband. With the loan she is now requesting, Rosalia hopes to purchase tables and chairs to expand her business. Rosalia and her husband’s greatest wish is to improve their home. |
